As our Director and Architect of Engagement, Ryan Ballou joins the Ethos team with a powerhouse background in digital storytelling and a deep-rooted commitment to the Mendocino Coast. With an extensive career spanning entertainment and news writing across print and radio, Ryan understands how to capture an audience's attention and, more importantly, how to keep it.
As a longtime resident of Mendocino County, Ryan shares the same passion for the Northern California experience that our clients do. His expertise isn’t just theoretical; he is an active leader in our community, serving as a member of the Mendocino Coast Chamber of Commerce and sitting on the Visit Fort Bragg Board and its marketing subcommittee.
At ClickEthos, Ryan leads our Content Creation department and spearheads our new high end drone video offering. Whether he is directing large-scale events or capturing breathtaking aerial footage of our rugged coastline, Ryan’s work is driven by a single goal: driving results for local businesses.
In a remarkably short time, Ryan has already made his mark by successfully increasing foot traffic and digital engagement for local partners. His unique blend of journalism, marketing, and social media community building makes him an invaluable resource for any business looking to navigate the modern digital landscape with a local touch.
As our Founder and Director of Community Growth, Heather Baird is the human pulse behind the Northern California Coast’s most vibrant movements. With a background forged in professional photography, and hospitality in Lake Tahoe, she brings an unmatched grit and a "boots on the ground" perspective to the Click Ethos team. Her career is a masterclass in resilience, shaping her into a leader who thrives in high energy environments where precision and adaptability are non-negotiable.
Since 2009, Heather has been the architect of community connectivity. By founding Mendo Coast Mamas and serving as a Resources and Events Coordinator, she has demonstrated a profound ability to mobilize resources and people toward a common goal. This strategic mindset was never more evident than during the pandemic, when she launched a volunteer-run thrift store and led wildfire relief efforts, leadership that earned her a mayoral commendation for her ability to coordinate complex logistics under pressure.
At Click Ethos, Heather bridges the gap between digital strategy and real world impact. She understands that a brand is only as strong as the community surrounding it. Whether she is scaling the Hare Creek Community Market, producing regional music festivals, or preserving maritime culture through the Noyo Harbor Lit Boat Parade, Heather excels at creating "sticky" community experiences that drive participation and long term loyalty.
A lifelong photographer with a documentarian’s eye for detail, Heather is also a member of the Mendocino Mermaids, dedicated to coastal conservation. When she isn't driving community growth or photographing the rugged beauty of Noyo Harbor, she is a single mother and a dedicated "pet parent," finding her balance at the local dog beach reminding us all that the strongest brands are built on a foundation of authentic, local soul.
For more than three decades, Our Founding Director, Marc Andrew Tager has helped businesses flourish in competitive waters, but hospitality has always been my anchor. My experience runs through hotels, restaurants, tech, and all the spaces that shape life along our coastline. Those years taught me a simple truth: when you invest in people, the tide rises for everyone.

My course has also touched nonprofit work, community stewardship and giving voice to those with little or none. These experiences reinforced what no metric can fully capture: trust and clarity are the true navigation tools of sustainable growth.
